the s10 rear end bolts right up, but it's 5 lug. Most have 3.73 gears.

Another way to go is an 8" Ford rear end out of a Maverick or Comet Grabber. These are rare but still available with a little searching. These rear ends are two inches wider than your Luv rear end, 1" on each side. Five bolt regular Ford bolt pattern. Just have to remove the old springs pads and weld on the new ones, make up a driveshaft and go. Most of these are either 3:00 or 2:80. Great highway gears but it is also possible to special order gears from Summitt down to 4:62. And they are available with Trac Lock, will hold up to 600 HP reliably. I've used several of them in engine transplants, never broke one.

Most of the v-6 Ford Pintos and Mustang II's also had the 8" rearend, only with the 4 lug pattern.
Not sure about the overall width of these.
Gears for these are relatively easy to come by in my area.
