i have an 81 luv 4x4 .
it has a tired 1.8 l motor , will a gm 2.2 l work in my truck with the existing tranny. thanks jr

No. A g200 (1.9) is your only direct bolt in.

I would have thought an Isuzu 2.3 (4ZD1?) would bolt right in.

A 2.3 will bolt to the tranny & fit into the engine bay but the motor mounts & everything that bolts to the engine is different, so it's not a direct bolt in like the 1.9 where everything externally is the same as the stock 1.8.
