I'm not sure. I haven't ever priced chrome, or looked for a local place. The chrome under it looks to be in good shape. There are a few spots where there isnt clear and it looks good to me. I'm going to just clean it up and leave it as is. One day many years down the road when i can afford a paint job, I will look into re chroming then.

Love these stock rear bumpers on these trucks. I paid more for mine then I should have but I can't find a better rear bumper on a LUV in my opinion.

yeah the rear bumper totally changes the look. me likey!

It's clear coat . Maybe some acetone . That one sat out behind the body shop for a while .

They are near the ship channel bridge on Loop 610. They re-plated my 1978 LUV front bumper for $200.00 two years ago. The original chrome was peeling in spots and it was bent in several places. The bumper looked like new when finished. I was very pleased with their work and don't mind recommending them to you.

Very cool. I saved the info in my phone for future use.

I met up with hotrod80 again, and got his old hood from him. Pretty good shape overall. Straightened up the front of the hood a little(just some hammer and dolly work, filler was already there), and welded part of it where it was cracked. thats the extent of work im gonna do to it for now.

also picked up a pair of 275/50 drag radials for cheap on the way home. good day!

Actually spent time this time with trimming, didn't want to cut out all of the support. Need to do very little trimming on the holes to totally, clear. It latches, so I'm done for the night.

Once I get all the trimming done, I'll pull it off to paint it.

afco springs and adjusters, with fox shocks. Was supposed to be temp. just to get rid of the bags. Been working well. One day i will swap it out for a full coilover setup like the front.
