They were really rare before '81 ;) (not imported to the U.S.). From 1981-1982, I'd wager they were more popular than the gas-powered ones. They're rare in the U.S. now due to body rust, and HEAVY exporting to developing nations (primarily Haiti at the moment).

Well I am hearing info about the vehicle I found second hand from a co worker so we will see what happens. If it is a diesel and I get it I am gonna convert it to vg oil...I know where I can get a lot of it! I work as a Chef!

I can't help but notice it...because I have some RSS feeds that are created from Craigslist searches. Really weird stuff appears in my search results. It can be a Ford Escort and the use "isuzu" and "diesel" in the keywords (along with Duramax, Maytag, Nike, etc.).

I know they probably sold motors to everybody.You see Mitsubishi motors in a lot of stuff. VW sold gas and diesel engines for generators along will Perkins and other companies.
