Ok drivers door wants to close hard.It looks like the metal spring holder/rocker for the pivot has a groove worn into it. My passenger door is fine.Any ideas?

Get in/out on the passenger side?
Swap hinges with the passenger side?

Seriously though, does the door drop down when you open it? The hinges have been known to wear out and you can rebuild or swap out for better ones. There are a number of threads on this topic. Do some searching and I'm sure you'll find some better ideas than my first two. :-)

Good luck,
Eric Q.

Door doesn't sag acts like the door is hanging up on the hinges.

I don't know if this is your exact problem, and I don't even know if this applies to 1st-gen LUVs...but there's a guy on the IsuzuPup.com forum who, every time something wears out, he re-builds it better than original. And he documents the process beautifully. Here's his "Door Scrunch Fix"...
