On my 77 it is under a cover just behind the coil. If you are trying to find a replacement, if the parts stores don't have one, another double throw relay with a 12 volt coil will work.

You may already know this but the fuel pump relay is energized by the voltage regulator. When the alternator starts charging it closes a second relay inside the voltage regulator, this sends a signal to the fuel pump relay which then energizes the fuel pump.
Kind of a tricky way to keep the fuel pump from pumping gas when the engine isn't running. This relay is also activated by the ignition switch When it is in the "start" position, at least as long as the switch is held in this position. These fuel pump relays don't usually fail so it is better to check out the whole system before replacing anything
If you are having problems it is usually a situation where the engine will start and run a few seconds before shutting off. A lot of guys have chosen to bypass this whole system and simply run a switched hot wire to the fuel pump when the key is on, not the safest route but quite effective. Good luck and welcome to the site, I am sure you will enjoy it.
