not sure how much these springs are supposed to compress.. but i had to adjust it all the way up to here to get it to sit like i want.. and its at 11" for mounting points and its supposed to be 10.25, but there was no weight on the tires.. sidewall flexed 1/2" with the weight... feels soft.. those are 325 pound springs..

speedway tech. reccomended 450 pound springs since theyre such a small stroke. So those will be here saturday. gonna try and have everything welded/cleaned up and painted by then so i can just swap out the coils and take her for a spin.

Took off early yesterday to get some work done on the luv.. well i get a call from my dad sayin they just took my dog(I left him at my parents cause he did not want to leave!) to the vet.. Hes had this cancer growth on his leg for a couple years now, just recently getting bigger. and with the way it grew in, there was no way to cut it out, without him losing his leg. And i wasnt going to put him through that being so old and having a hard enough time getting around. Well yesterday it started to bleed, and he started messing with it himself.. So we had to go to vet and put him down :( That was so hard to do/see..

RIP Max 8/4/97-10/20/11 Miss Ya Buddy!

All my paint is dry. Going to be putting everything together today.

also, a spring compressor will not compress these springs to get them off. So my buddy told me about some ratchet straps that have a real long end on them that loop back into itself.. so i went to home depot..

"endless loop" ratchet straps. got the spring tightened up enough to where i could spin the adjuster nut all the way down, and got the spring right off..

Image

then i didnt just want to undo the ratchet straps in fear of the spring ripping my face off. So i used a spring compressor, then popped the ratchet straps off.
Image

then loosened up the compressor, and wala.. only took about 5 minutes
Image

I think im going to flush the cooling system before putting front end back together. I forgot i never flushed the motor, and i put regular coolant in the truck, now the radiator cap has mud all over it from mixing dexcool..

Bummer man. Sorry for your loss. Max was a good lookin' dog. I can see a lot personality that I bet he had in his face. Looks like he posed for that pic.

I know it's just personal preference, but I like the new wheels about 100 times better than the black ones.

The work that you've put into your truck is just amazing!

Fantastic job! 8)

Nice work 8) .
I have a question for you, I tryed looking for the answer through the other post but didn't see it.
When you cut down the mustang2 clip, did you use the origenal length rack and pinon or what rack did you use. :?:

You did WHAT! I didn't know that's was posible. You did it on your own, that is narrowing the rack. Might I ask how this is done
