Trying to get a few more miles out of my tranny so I can track down a replacement. Anyone done a band adjustment? Mostly wondering if I can drop the pan and get to the goods. If not, I think I'll just go with a thorough flush and fluid/filter change as I have no desire to get any deeper into the guts. I didn't come across much info on this in the shop manual, so torque values would be really helpful to me. Thanks all.

Check your manual and see if there is an exterior band adjustment. Also when you drop the fluid try some of the "High Mileage" transmission fluid..it has additives to help the clutch packs and helps sweel the seals so there is less leakage!

Turns out the TH200 has no band adjustment. I did find that the hose closest to the center of the radiator is the supply hose, which was nice since the other hose sits right under the lower radiator hose. I just flushed with the cheapest ATF this time, I'll probably repeat the process in a a thousand miles or so with some high mileage juice. I think the flush will get me down the road for a bit until I locate a TH350 to replace the stock trans.

Good luck with the th350 cause it wont fit the Isuzu motor unless you know somebody that can build an adapter plate and then in that case you would be better off with a TH200R4.

I thought the 350 short tail was a bolt up except for exchanging the TV cable as long as it was 3 speed to 3 speed?

Can you swap bell housings?
I've been using this site for reference, lots of good info on GM trannies:

Rebuilding a th250 is not hard. The worst part about it is the tools. You can get a good reasonable kit from Northern Auto Parts online..but spend the extra thirty bucks and install the shift kit..it gives the tranny more pressure to the clutches and will make the tranny last longer. You can buy the manual to rebuild it from them too and it should have step by step instructions on what to do.Also take the case to a machine shop and have them through the case and tailshaft into their jet washer. Will
clean the case up inside and out.
