I need help I lost my gas cap when I was driving and I've been to all the autoparts in town but the gascap that they keep giving me is to big and dont fit what should I do

I haven't lost my gas cap for a long time. I looked at the generic one on my 77. No name, no numbers. I did measure it and it fits into 1 5/16'' filler neck.

I think there is a locking one from Stant (?) that will fit.

I have a oem replacement fron Stant on my 76. I guess its a fleetside style and the # is 10732.

Oh oh! There is no replacement cap for the stepsides. Solution, just trade me your useless step side for my regular bed and get a free gascap!
OK surely there is a cap that will fit? Can they look itnup by size?
