What do I run for oil in the transmission(4 speed 75)? Also can I run high mileage products like Valvoline High Mileage?

The manual for my 77 says the same grade motor oil as the engine. I am sticking to conventional Pennzoil 5W30 in the transmission. I have heard of some nasty things with synthetic and brass syncros. I am running Mobil 1 0W-30 in the engine.

Mobil one..you must have a recent rebuild..or a hell of a lot less oil leaks than I have!

Also the High Mileage isn't synthetic...so should be ok..has additives to stop leaks.

For all the big mess the engine compartment is, I don't have to add that much.
