Thought there was one that was a little more detailed what to get it from and i was looking for more of a stock aplication than a SBC. Anyone make a sticky on ALT upgrades? explaining the 50/GM/mounting and all of that in one post. I know I need it if i leave my lights on even for a bit the truck wil start but i have to leave everything off.

THX

Dont know what to tell you except study the wiring diags and fab up brackets.

Two things, first is that three wire is better (better voltage regulation) than one wire and not that hard to do. Plus you can get more of them from the Vato Zone and stuff like that, in all clockings and many amperage ranges.

Second, it doesn't sound like you are running too much electric stuff, you should check out putting an internally regulated alt from a later izuzu on there. I put one on my 72, got 20 more amps and it bolts right in. Needed it because I am putting in air conditioning. Ask for an alt for a 1983 Nissan Pulsar 1.6L. You need to get the voltage sense and indicator wires right, but again not too hard look at the wire diagram.

To go one wire, I guess it's the question of fabbing brackets. I think the bottom mount stays the same and you have to fab a top mount, I bet you could buy a chrome one from pep boys and mod it to fit.

So you have options!
