I have never replaced a carb that wasn't stock. When you upgrade to a Weber is there a conversion kit that is needed or does it just bolt on to existing stock. What about the linkage. I guess I am asking is there anything other than the (Weber 38/38 or 38/36) that I need to purchase to get this project done. Maybe with all the guys out there that have already done this conversion I can learn from their vast experince.

my weber 32/36 came with the kit to bolt it up. it requires adapters to bolt up to the stock manifold. use the "search" button and look around there are dozens of people who have done the swap.
there is even a how to install a 38/38 video on the site. which is the exact same procedure as the 32/36 it helped me out when i did mine

Hey thanks for the help. Can I ask where did you order your carb? Looking for the best deal with the least hassel. Is the 32/36 better for fuel mileage? What are the advantages? I am not a carb guy.

You can get a Redline kit from eBay with everything you need to install it for $300 shipping included.
The 32/36 is a big imrovement over the stock Hitachi and will give you a decent mix of power and fuel economy.
If you don't care about gas milage and want as much power as possible, then the 38/38 might be for you.

Ok I've gotta 80 4wd luv and it needs more power but I don't wanna sacrifice all my fuel economy to get it the weber carb mentioned above is that the best way to go for more power and economy?

what tipe of weber do you put on the luv if its the year motor where the intake is on the other side of the engine?
