I just wanted to see how many people ordered a LUV dash? I know from the other thread that it seems no one has recieved one yet but does anyone know this guy personally? Phone number, talk to him etc? I really want to buy a dash so if anyone has any updates or anything, please post. Thanks

i dont know if theres alot of intrest, but my brothers room mate was looking at my 78 luv and noticed the crappy dash and sai if i was going to fix it up he could costom make a fiberglass das cover that would look original. I used to work whith him too (he works in the circut city road shop) and his work is top notch. I might ask him if he could do a trial one then make a mold and do casts or something...

Hey guys, I have some news from the dashboard guy. I e mailed him telling him that I would order from him only after some of my LUVtruck.com friends who already ordered recieved their dashboards. I looked into the company and it IS legit. I wouldn't blame you for not believing him, but even though I don't know the guy it seems like hes not ripping people off. What is true is that he definately made promises he was unable to keep, which ruins his credibility. For those that have ordered dashboards from this guy, PLEASE keep us informed and tell us when you get them. Heres the e mail response he sent me:

The process is taking more time than I or the factory ever expected. The factory has brought in an outside professional mold-maker. The prelim mold should be ready for form fitting within the next month or so. The last email I recieved from the factory is hoping for a Jan 04 release. Please let your friends know that they are not and will not be forgotten about. This whole process has embarassed me personally beyond your wildest beliefs.

P.S. To those that have given him their money: know what I would do? I would get in touch with the guy and tell him that if he wants to do business with anymore of your friends, he'll give you at least half your money back now. This way, it would be like you giving him half at the beginning, and the other half when its ready to ship.

I also sent them an e-mail and this is the reply I got...
We are only week's away from making available a brand new reproduction
dashboard pad for the Chev Luv.

Our US office will contact you when the unit enters production in about
three or four week's time.

Hopefully for the guys that ordered already they come through. When and if they do please let us know. Notice they said "dashboard pad" I was assuming it was the entire dash not just a cap. anyone know what its supposed to be for sure?

diarmadhim - Dash "pad" usually refers to the dashboard itself. Its not a cover, its the whole thing.

Good I was hoping it was the whole dash not just a cap like the ones from accu-form, although those look way better than what I got.
