Yes , I replaced the brakes on both of my 4x4's and the people at the autoparts store said they are all the same. Different years could be different though......... Welcome to the site , and i hope that helps.

75 and older have drum front brakes, but other than that 72-80 are the same regardless of 2wd or 4wd. The hubs are obviously different for the 4x4, but the rotors are the same and bolt up to either hub style.

I'm not so sure once you get to 81-82 LUVs. I had an 83 Isuzu Pup and it had completely different calipers and pads. Everyplace I look up part numbers shows different pads and rotors for the 81 LUV that match the 83 PUP. The 4wd and 2wds still use the same rotors in those years, but they appear to be different from prior years. The drums for the rear show up with the same part number as older LUVs, even my 1986 Trooper appears to use the same drums.

Oh, I should mention that the master cylinder and such went through some changes along the way from 72-80s. I don't know specifically what changed but some years have a single reservoir and some have two seperate reservoirs. Also there are some differences in what sort of proportioning valves are there and such.

You did say brake system so I though I should cover a little of everything. If you've got specific year(s) and parts you are looking to swap around let us know and someone here can probably help narrow things down.
