I have a 78 Bone stock and my throttle sticks a little so therefore it idles fast which i dont like lol but ive checked its not the cable its the linkage it moves on the rod its bolted to. If i pull on the linkage mannualy it goes back to normal, i just dont know how to make it solid to where it doesnt move on the rod or if anyone has had this problem before and how to fix it.

Sounds like it is old and the hole is worn too big. Replacing the rod and linkage would be the best fix if you coul dfindor even make new ones. I have know people to put Locktite on worn linkages. It won't stick to oily metal, but take up the slack.

Is their a spring for throttle return? Might try replacing it with a stronger spring.

Check the choke pull off and all of the vacuum lines.Spray carb cleaner at the base of the carb to find a leak.If RPMs change you have a vacuum leak. Also might want to check if idle solenoid needle is sticking.
