went to the local u-pull-it type yard and yanked a fusebox out of some other car :( sadly i do not remember what i yanked it out of. but it had the right types of connections for my fuse box which were

1 hot wire that powered 3 fuses
1 hot wire that powered 2 fuses
and 1 hot wire that only powered 1 hot wire.

even has some left over circuits so i can upgrade things later.

best thing of all, i didn't have to modify my existing wiring harness.

and i'm pretty sure(i'll find out tonight in the dark for sure) that this fixed my generator light being on faintly.

there's the fusebox

here's the connectors you need to hook it right up to your existing wiring harness

i had to cut off a little edge of the plastic on the fusebox to get it flush against the fender well, and drill a hole for the screw thru the fuse box as well. but there it is, mounted, and everything still works! the engine starts idles, can turn everything in the truck on and it stays running, and the generator light doesn't come on(at least noticably during the day)

as i drive my truck every night, in the dark out in the boonies delivering the Oregonian to the lovely residents of Corbett Oregon and surrounding area. it will be very easy to see if the generator light still comes on.

i was told my battery is weak, i think i may replace that tonight with one from a donor car.

i have a tip for you

since the box is under the hood, get some dielectric grease. pull each fuse and fill the fuse slot in the fuse block then reinstall the fuses. it will save you some headaches down the road

so after driving my route last night, the truck acts fine at above 2500rpm and sometimes fine below that, but sometimes at idle and upto 2500rpm, the electricity pulses about once a second, doesn't change its speed. the gen light for the most part was dimmer than it had been the past few days.

EDIT: my Alternator's ground screw was a hair too small, and couldn't fasten itself down. fixed that today. before i did that however, my gen light was out of the blue started to do that flicker someone else had mentioned. but that seems to be fixed now.

well. after a while my generator light started coming on almost full but not quite. hasn't affected charging or anything of that sort that i can tell.

i also figured out how to get it to go away. get the truck rolling, while running, shut it off, and then put it in the on position without using the starter, and put it in the correct gear for the speed your going, and let out the clutch. fixes my problem untill my idle drops hella low or i turn the fan on full boar but then it only comes on very very faintly, and only for a half second when i turn it over to high.

New battery 1000 ca $70 voltage reg $35. If it isnt fixed put the old voltage reg behind the seat and take the battery back for your money.
