i went to look at the 81 model 4x4 i talked about earlier and it had a 2 piece driveshaft. is that normal? its short wheel base. i need one for a 80 model but mine is 1 piece at least thats what was in the bed when i bought it.the length looks ok though..

thanks 804x4

the front driveshaft is in place but has a 2 piece rear driveshaft with a hanger bearing. mine is an 80 but has a 1 piece rear shaft, there is no crossmember with a hanger bearing is this normal for an 80 4x4.

thanks

My 79 4x4, which is a lot like the 80 4x4's also has only one driveshaft in the rear. Correct me if I'm wrong here guys, but isn't the 81 LUV a whole different animal from the 80 anyway? Shouldn't he be out looking at a 79-80 LUV 4x4 rear driveshaft? That would be my advice. I'm not familiar with the 81's but they may have split the shaft and thrown in a center bearing for some reason for those couple years.
