 Post subject: truck weight?

got the luv registered and was noticing the scale weight listed is 2380, are these trucks really this light?

dunno for sure on 2380 but i know they are damn light trucks

Sounds about right. I could dig up a scale ticket and check the tare, but I think that is right.

Mine weighs 2620 with a SBC, 9" and a four point cage. So it sounds about right.

It's for reg fees here in Ca. The lighter you are the less you pay. Yours is on the light side. Mine with full tank weighed in @2700 lbs accordin to the wt cert from a truck stop. 2490 is curb wt. for a 75 truck accoding to LUV.com- http://www.luvtruck.com/PDF/LUV_Demension.pdf
My truck has air condition and a tool box I should have took out so I fig that's part of the difference in wt for mine.

mine weighed 2540 with me in it and i'm 180lbs or 2360 truck alone. that's a sbc408/th350/9"inch/8 gal fuel cell stock truck with everything in it still, it's not gutted.

maybe i have the heaviest luv, but when i come out of the scrap yard, i weigh in at about 3400 lbs with me in it. i weight about 220. there is about 50 lbs of equipment in the truck at all times... :lol:

My 74 has a sbc full cage 9'' and 2 batteries. 2745 w/out me 3020 with..not as light as it looks. people forget these trucks have a boxed frame and all that torsion bar stuff isint light either 8)

We have heavy leather bucket seats
Stock interior
All glass
Fiberglass hood
Dana 44 rear with ladder bars.

I weighed my front end then weighed the rear and they added up to 2820, Probably not the best way to weigh it but that's all I have right now. And that's with stock windows and no roll bar yet(Think lexan will help that much for the trouble).
