Make new door panels and use something like Infinity 5.25 plate Reference or Kapa series.You can but the rings to bring the speakers away from the door panel so you don't have to worry so much about the door glass.

Remember window seals leak. That is why they have weep holes in the bottom of the doors. My point is use the 1/2 covers over the speakers so water does not trash your speakers. That is why most door panels have plastic between the door and the panel too.

My speakers came with hard black plastic 1/2 covers in the box. I'm not sure where you could get them alone. Audio shop maybe?

in my truck the door panels were already cut up along with the door. I have some pioneer 6" two ways in the door and three way 6x9s boxed in the void behind the seat in the cab voids. I would say that it gets loud enough with decent quality. There is not much room for a lot of custom enclosure work in my opinion. As for the 1/2 covers, mine are made from a couple of cheap dollar store plastic bowls as I could not locate premade ones.
