I dont know a lot about cars, thought i'd fish around here before i make a decision. I have oil in my radiator. Local shop said it would $457 to flush and replace all hoses. Is this something a radiator flush product from napa would handle or should i have them do it. I understand i'll still have to replace all the hoses. I was also wondering if LUV's had control arm (A-Arm?) bushings? One mechanic said he feels if he can grease the contact points my squeaks will disapear. Do I have bushings or do I need to investigate further

$400+ is a ripoff! $50 would be more like it. And yes you can do it with the many products made for that. Just follow the instructions with the product. Larger question is, how did the oil get there? Only two places usually, faulty auto transmission cooler in the radiator, or a cracked block or head gasket problem.

Unfortunately, egg is right about the head gasket or block. I would do a compression check.

I think a flush and new hoses would be more like $100. Likely you can DIY for $50.

I spoke with the mechanic who rebuilt it. he said it has a brand new Head gasket. The radiator place I took it to, felt that if it really does have a new head gasket, the oil in the radiator might have been left there prior to the rebuild. I also have gas and or water in my oil. I'm not losing any oil though. I'm gonna give the whole thing a good flush and see what happens. Anybody have any thoughts on bushings?
I appreciate any info. Just in case it helps, she's 4wd.

Water in the oil is not a good thing. Either there is a head gasket/block problem or the mechanic did a lousey job of flushing and cleaning the engine after the overhall. I would drain and replace the oil, flush the cooling system and see if the problems remain, go from there.
