I may have an opportunity to purchase a stock 1979 Luv 4 x 4. I will strive to purchase gasoline without ethanol, but am wondering if E10 is acceptable in the vehicle and whether it is likely to cause problems other than the usual concerns about moisture absorbtion, scouring of varnish, shelf life, etc. Are the fuel lines, carb., etc. E10 compatible? The vehicle has been driven about 1,000 miles per year since 1990, but has been well-maintained and the current owner has avoided fuel with ethonol as it turned the rubber and plastic fuel system components to gum in his 1988 Toyota pickup. Thank you for your guidance.

That's all that 90% of the country can run (including myself), and it's formulated at such a low percentage as to be interchangeable. I would wager he had other issues besides a little ethanol in his fuel.

You'll be fine.
