This has been covered alittle here and alittle there. I think I have the answer but I will ask anyway.
I have a 1980 luv. Just bought 1992 2.3L motor and 5 speed trans. This is a direct bolt up and wire for motor and trans. Correct? The only thing I have to deal with is yokes and driveline, correct?

Do you mean a 2.3 isuzu motor? I've got One in a 80 luv and there's a few thing's that will have to be ajusted, the dist will hit the firewall and the motor mtns will need to be modified but in your case with using the five speed you might be able to move the motor forward enough to help this. Is this a 4x4 or 2wd the crossmember might come into play.

it is 2 wheel drive.
Thanks for the info. I thought no one had info on this.
Everyone doing upgrades are going V6 or V8s.
I know I am an odd ball but gas prices and lack of money. I thought this would be a cheap build.
$200 for motor and Trans. Can not beat the price

I am concerned now. I have the motor and trans. I have been reading on isuzupup.com, people that have swapped from 1.9 4speed to 2.3 5speed are saying the rear trans mount is different, the motor mounts are different. doesn't sound like it is going to be as easy as I thought. I guess maybe I should throw in the 5speed and keep my stock 1.8 in there until summer. I don't have a garage just a carport and living in Washington, we have wet winters. Anyone have anymore advice?
Thanks

I'm doing a similar swap with the 2.0 turbo that's based on the 2.3L. The front mount perches will need to change to match the new mounts. The transmission should go right in with the exception of the front yoke on the drive shaft -- you'll have to pick one up from a truck like the one you got your engine out of since the spline count is different on the transmission output shaft. The G200 is a straight swap, the 4Z series engines take a little work.

are you talking about making a bracket for the frame side or can you explain more?
I am renting a engine lift this weekend. I am going to pull the old motor out and drop the new one in. I guess not that easy. One can hope I guess.

my 2 cents ... for now, just toss the 5 speed in and read up on what all you have to do to get the 2.3 in there the right way

my motor is dead and then I have to rent an engine lift to pick up the engine and trans. So i figured I would pull my old motor out why I had the engine lift and drop the new on in. I might drop in the motor see how much work needs to be done and pull it out after I take measurements and take pictures. See how everything is going to be lined up. Which I guess it means pulling the trans off the motor, installing the trans so I can index the motor of the trans for the measurements
