when i got my 73 LUV it had a 4 cylinder engine in it, its seen beta days so ive decided to put in a new one. ive noticed a lot of the LUVs have v8's in them, is that easy to do? or do u have to modify the engine bay? is it also possible to put a fuel injected v6 in it? or should i just stick with the 4 cylinder?

aslo did the LUVs come standard with a 4 cylinder or does it varry?

I bought my luv with a V8 in it. But I can tell you the engine bay was not cut on, or beat on. The only real problem i can see is the headers had to be modified to fit.

im shure you have seen headers. Just about anybody whith an older truck or muscle car will probly have headers on em. They are just bent tubes mounted on a flange that meet some number of inches from the head. They make more power becouse they are made so that by the time the exsaust gasses hit the collector (where the pipes come together) no matter what cylinder they came from have travelled and equal distance. Oh and i think that a vortec 4.3L V-6 swap would be an awsome swap, it would be the best for fun and economy 8)
