Hey all,

The Phoenix sun has claimed most of my interior. Dash? What dash? Anyway, anyone know of a cheap upholsterer in the Phx area that will do the seat (including new padding) for a reasonable rate? I dont care about the dash, but if they can make a nice cover for that too, then all the better. Does't have to be beautiful, just better than the foam-dust I'm dealing with now. Thanks!!!

dude, go to o'reilly's and get a seat cover. runs you about 30 bucks give or take, and it will last quite a while.

Seat cover isnt going to last very long or be very comfortable if there is no foam underneath it.

I would start calling upholstry shops in the phone book or asking street rod shops who they would recommend.

I have a bench seat. The seat is in good condition. The only thing bad about it is the driver side foam is a little soft. I live in phoenix as well. We should meet up sometime and check each other trucks out.

I tried one of these, and it rotted into dust in 6 months. Plus, the foam is toast too.

Check Summit Racing and JC Whitney's for bucket seats unless you want to keep the original seat in it. My son took the bucket seats out of an '87 nova and put them in his LUV.

I just put buckets in mine from a late model Cavalier/Sunfire. ($20 each @ scrapyard)
Also, the bench from a mid 80's-mid 90's Toyota is a pretty straightforeward swap if you prefer that.
Check your local yards. :D

Were the buckets from the Cavalier an easy install?
