Having no luck locating small replacement freeze plugs for the intake manifold.
I have tried several auto parts stores and they can't even order any. Same thing with intake manifold gaskets... I don't need a whole rebuild kit or a head kit.

Any suggestions?

I heard doorman has them, I need one but have not found it due to time. I got my gasket kit for timing chain and oil pan from Autozone. Had to prepay and order them and got them in 2 days. Everywhere else I had shipping tag on.

i can check with o'reillys tomorrow. i'll let you know what part number they are or if i have some at the store, i can send you some. if nothing else, neoprene plugs might work if you can find a small enough one.

Thanks!

They appear to be approximately 18mm OD. I don't have a gauge... just used a wrench.

ok....sorry for being late, i found a size i THINK is close to what it should be.

the Dorman P/N is a 565-012.1

It's a brass/copper freeze plug that is close to what i measured for the manifold. ( at least the outmost ones on the passenger side)

hope this helps!

I know they are normally steel - not sure if it matters.
A man at an old auto parts store in Tomball measured the OD and found some in a catalog. We're pretty sure they are the right size, so I ordered three.
He spent probably 20 minutes trying to locate some, and they were .69 cents each. They will probably come in tomorrow. They still may not be right since they were based on size rather than vehicle application, but for the price it is worth a try...

Thanks for your help! I will post if they work or not and if they do, I will provide the PN and source (apparently they are difficult to find).

Well, they came in and actually work well.
They are Federal Mogul Sealed Power and are labeled on the bag as Steel Shallow Cup freeze plugs.
Part number: 381-2180. They came in a bag of 12 at .69c each. I bought them all in case anyone needs one.

Thanks Figuaras for looking!
