working at O'reilly's has taught me that a certain percentage of the population should never be allowed to look under the hood of their car for fear they might create a black hole of death under there.

(edit) (in case you wonder why i say this, i had a MAN, well a nerdy girly kid (boy) come into my store today and ask with a completely serious face if i had a MUFFLER BEARING FOR A HONDA.)

Having shopped at O'wrongley's has taught me that trained monkeys would be an improvement over most of the key pad punchers, present company excepted...

A.C. blower motor screeched to a stop yesterday = No A.C... it's been actually kinda nice to have nothing but open windows and ceiling fans...

Agree. If you want a deer in the headlight look ask for a set of early small block chevy valve cover gaskets.

I LUV it when they insist on knowing the exact year model and engine size after telling them it is a custom install, then watching them pound the keys looking for a 427 small block in a 78 LUV...

Sad to say it, but its true that we do have a bunch of key punching monkey behind the counters of some of our stores.

but as for me, i KNOW cars. (now if some of my customers would understand that we are not a repair shop....)

What difference does it make for a "motor mount" on a Chevy Small block if it has a/c or not? Doesn't matter. They are not "motor mounts" anyway. A motor is electric. In the old days with parts books, they were engine insulators.

It is still great to find some "parts people" who know that. or remember what the part number is without having to look it up.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

would the air pump re-routed to the air take manifold and drawing air from the engine compartment be able to act like a belt-driven supercharger??? with a pressure regulator so it cant overboost and run on the intake manifold instead of through the carb with richer jets work? or be doable?
