 Post subject: EGR valve HELP

If you delete the Egr valve will it still pass emision test .this is what i got 1.8 with a weber carb and a header still has smog pump on it.

What state are you in? Is there a catalytic converter? Do you have to pass a visual inspection? If not, the only way to tell is to take the sniffer test and hope for the best. If you fail for excessive NOx, you'll probably have to re-install your EGR valve in order to pass. Tailpipe emission standards are pretty lax for vehicles of this age, even in California, so you probably have nothing to worry about.

I'm wondering if your EGR system is working anyways, since you have a header. Do you have a crossover tube from your header to the intake manifold?

IT PASSED! LMAO they did a snif test and it passed 116 of 250 and 10 of 250. the head inspector did a visual and said it was ok. yeah baby another luv back on the road.
