On saturday the 21st my grandmama passed away. She was my last living grandparent. My daughter was her only great-grandchild. My daughter who is only 8 yrs old is taking it pretty hard. I think the young kids know more that we think they do. RIP Grandmama.

Thanks guys. Got all the arrangements set up today. Funeral is on wednesday. While I was in the town where the funeral home is I went and saw a good friend of mine who is in the hospital dying of cancer. He was sleeping so I didn't stay. I just saw him last monday evening and since then he has really gotten alot worse. I almost didn't reconize him. So there will probably be another funeral real soon. When things go to sh!t it really goes!!

my gma was 87, married for 62 years. 3 kids. x amount grandkids. she did a lot in her life. no complaints here.
its rough. but it gets better. hang in there man

My grandma was 87 also. She had 3 kids, 3 grandkids, and my 8 yr old daughter was your only great-grandchild. She loved and cherished her very much. My daughter is taking it very hard and that is the hardest part for me. My grandpa passed away 4 yrs ago Sept., on my birthday. That wasn't a very good birthday.

Sorry for your loss. I'm at that age as well. I have no living grandparents, and only one aunt still living and shes 93! My favorite grandma (my dads mom) passed away 14 years ago and I still miss her to this day. It will be tough for awhile, but hang in there.

Thanks Maduro-man, this grandma was my last living grandparent. I have thought about this day for a long time and hoped it would never happen, but knew it would come some day. I never knew my grandpa on my dad's side but knew grandma real well. I spent weekend at her house while I was in college up in North Dakota. She passed away 16 yrs ago last jan.

sorry wildluv, i know it's hard.

when my grandmother died, i was so distracted by everything that had happened that it contributed to me almost losing a leg in a truck accident.

just keep your head on straight and keep a positive mental attitude. i know it's not easy, but its much better than being depressed all the time, that's for sure!

Thanks Figuraus and sorry for the loss or your grandma and bad mishaps. I have been doing a pretty good job of keeping my chin up. My wife, a cousin, and myself were in the room when she passed. So I am very happy to have been there for her at her time of need. She was a very sweet lady.

ya know .. i too was blessed with that. i was in the room with my mother when my gma (her mom) passed away. if nothing else im very glad my mother wasnt alone.

She was a believer in Christ, so there is no doubt that she went to heaven. She wasn't the type to go around preaching but she went to church on a regular basis. Had a very nice turn out at the visitation tonight. I have been thinking about all the good times from when I was a little kid staying at their house for a week during the summer, up to the present. All of them good memories!!!

When is this crap going to stop??? Yesterday while at my Grandma's visitation, the wife's sister-in-law (who is a nurse) told me that a good friend of mine who had been fighting cancer passed away yesterday afternoon. Very sad but he is in a better place and has no more pain. RIP Dave.

sorry about your friend. cancer is a bitch. ive lost a few friends to cancer/cancer related illness. and again .. just keep the good memories alive and know there is no more suffering for your friend and the family members
