After all the discussions on here about paint i am kinda leaning toward rolling my truck instead of base clearing it when I get the primer finshed up. I have a couple extra fenders and might practice on one just for curiosity sake. Still seeems a bit time consuming to get it smooth,
Anyway still have to wait a bit till my eye heals some more and get the docs approval.

I remember my first paint job was careful came out good hold gun even with body don't fan it unless your fading overlap about 40% don't try to cover to much on the first coat just a light tack coat then second coat get more paint on feel it with your LUV and soul. if you get a run pull it out with tape go over it again. use plenty of light and watch it flow onto surface. be calm don't hurry. if metallic swirl can often as well as gun HVLP is best.

He was talking about using a roller not a gun to paint his truck.

Thanks for the input but I have painted several vehicles. There was a lot of discussinon on here about using rustoleum or some kind of implement paint. Only thing I will do is use a urethane hardner the paint to make it quicker to sand,
Might still just spray it with the implement paint. I think my stripes would be cool though with roller texture in it. I have extra fenders to practice on.
Seems like a lot of extra work to get it smooth with a roller but labor is cheaper than paint and will give it the old school feel. Since it is always inside it shouldn't weather.

All will have to wait till my eye doctor turns me loose. Still pretty scratchy.

Yeah I remembered and that is why I have thought about it just for grins. Not a show truck anyway but still want it to look decent to take to the car cruises. Gonna take some thought though
