Big thanks to all those who detailed replacing a points-type dizzy with an electronic one from a later Isuzu.

I ordered a reman '85 P'up dizzy from Rock Auto, a matching cap & rotor from NAPA, read the instructions from threads on this site carefully (search "electronic dizzy"), and installed it this weekend. I found a 2-wire GM Weatherpack connector set at my local Ace hardware to make the final connections look kinda "factory". Couldn't have been much easier, although cutting wires requires a few beers to calm the nerves. No more points, dwell setting, and probably better mileage & spark plug life.

Thanks guys for helping me keep my '79 running for 31 years- always appreciate the info.
