to put a 4.3 and trans in a luv, Do you need to cut transmission hump or do anything to the firewall?
I have seen motor and transmission mounts that you can buy for the swap but I have not seen what is needed.
If I do it I plan on keeping the carb. lot easier to work on and no computer needed or at least that is my plan at this time.
Is it along weekend swap? swap motor, trans, exhaust, motor mounts, drive line, transmission linkage and wire and done?
is it that easy?

I installed my Vortec 4.3 with a 2004r trans without any tunnel or firewall mods. I used hooker V-8 mounts and welded them in the location I needed, it is different then a V-8 location. I would say it is more then a weekend swap, drive line will need some work, exhaust etc.

You do not need to cut the trans tunnel for a V6 or V8. A little heavy hamer work, takes about 10 minutes is all. The E brake is retained with slight modification. Stock heater hoses will work. Any time you are putting in a heavier engine, you want to get it back to more evenly distribute the weight front to rear.
The V6 adapters found at www.powerbyace.com use the same trans adapters as thier V8 kits. They also use the same mods as the V8 requires. Gets the engine back and allows for an easier change to a V8 if desired later. They have a copy of the instructions in their technical section.

My V-6 and V-8 LUV have a un touched fire wall. You do not have to hammer it at all.
