I am still holding off ordering because I have not heard back from like 7 people who originally wanted an intake. I will certainly post updates here when I do get ready to order.

Well I talked to Offy Monday afternoon and I am planning on going ahead and placing the order even though I have not heard back from some people. Maybe they will contact me in the coming weeks? I am just waiting for him to get back to me on the price and some other info. He also mentioned that the lead time will probably be 6 to 8 weeks instead of the 4 to 5 he told me last year since their main foundry that does the casting has merged with another one (I am guessing because of the slow economy, but who knows?) So I am hoping that once I get the order placed I should have them by early to mid April if all goes well. Since it has been a couple years since the last price increase, he has to check with the foundry on the price and he also mentioned that they now have an aluminum surcharge. Hopefully the price won't have changed much, I am not expecting it to be much different than the approx. quotes I have given, but we will see once I hear back from him. I will post more updates when I get the info. If anyone else wants an intake, let me know.

I believe Taz was going to post up some walk through pics and install info, but I think he just said if you needed help to ask. Maybe once I get the next run in someone who knows what they are doing will post up some info? I called Offy Monday afternoon and he assured me that he had not forgotten I was ready to order. He said the guy he needed to talk to from the foundry was out for a couple weeks and that there is also a lot of backlog going on because of the merger of the two foundries. He said he will be talking to the guy at the foundry and will be getting back to me. He had said the lead time will still probably be about 8 weeks give or take a little because of the backlog. He had mentioned that they were still waiting for some castings they had ordered in January. So if he gets back to me soon and we get this order placed, it is looking like probably early May. When I hear back from Offy I will post updates.

I am wondering if anyone would be interested in intakes for the early trucks? If there is enough interest I would see about getting a run of those in the future. Here is a pic of the one that someone here had for sale last year. I believe it is for the stock carb according to the posts.

I talked to Offy Tuesday afternoon and he informed me that he had placed the order with the foundry. So right now with their backlog it should still be 6 to 8 weeks. I would say probably mid to late May and I should have them. The price should be pretty close to what I have been telling everyone, but he couldn't give me an exact price and won't be able to until they receive the castings from the foundry. I will post updates when I hear back from him which will probably be once they receive the castings from the foundry and are in the machining process.

I spoke with Offy Tuesday afternoon and things should be still on track for mid to later May. He said the foundry is starting to get through the back log from the merger with the other foundry and things should be quicker the next time I order. As for now I guess I am just waiting my turn for them to cast the order. Offy will let me know once they receive the intakes and begin machining them. I should have an exact price at that time. I will post more updates when I hear from him. Thanks to everyone for their patience. Hopefully next time I will place an order sooner as interest seems to have picked up a little and hopefully the economy doesn't take anymore nose dives for a while and things go smooth! I did discuss with Offy the last time I talked to him before today about maybe being able to do a little smaller of an order so I could order more often and not have to sit on intakes and he said that he might be able to work that out with the foundry, but it would have to be all one type of intake, not a split run like this order. We will see, maybe the split run order will be the way to go. It depends on how much continued interest there is in the dual plane or possibly other intakes. I have had a couple people who asked about Offy intakes for the stock carb. I am not sure why anyone would want to keep the stock carb after considering an Offy upgrade, but I guess that is how it is. If there are enough people interested I would definitely consider ordering some of the other intakes. I will post more updates when I get them.

Cool.

Reusing the stock carb might be due to keeping it smog legal and trying to slip the aftermarket manifold by the inspector.

Yeah, I did think about that. I guess it would also be useful if you just didn't want to buy a carb to upgrade to. Either way, if enough people wanted those type I would consider getting them. There are a lot of people who have to keep the smog stuff on and I am surprised that more people don't want the Offy for the stock carb.

Moka, I'm betting on the Smog tech to overlook the webber carber all together.
But just in case I'll keep the stock one.
