Gee, it has been a while. It seems I can remember removing the ashtray or something. I did destroy my dash. I was upgrading to a 3 1/2'' high Chrysler AM/FM/cassette stereo. Came across it for $2 at a thrift store.

There is a nut or something underneath the radio that requires removing the ashtray. Just take the nuts off of the tunning and volume shafts, remove the nut underneath, pull it out and disconnect the antenna and the power and speaker connections and it should come out with no damage to your dash, mine did.
