Mine is probably going to be stuck at the painters for atleast another month. But it will definatly look better than in that vid. Until then, dirt track it is, abilene last weekend and Lubbock the 12th. Then the Mud Nats the 25th-28th....going to be a busy summer PINKS will be a Crandell March 27th. Anybody going? I would but already made plans on the 4wheeler.

going with a old school flat black with flames covering the nose clip.
got a great painter and reasonable to do flames...when you get ready if interested
here is what we pull the dirt trackers with...379 Pete
white with sour apple flames...layed out free hand
cool i will let you know man thanks .. i like that sour apple flames on that Pete. i been fabbing up a handmade roll pan rear bumper for the Luv most of this morning out of sheet metal. about to do the opening for the plate and the opening for the tag light. way i do mine is the roll pan looks just like one you can get from Lund for the full size C Series Chevy trucks. but on mine i can still use the stock bumper mounts just have to cut and section the mounts to where you can get a flush mount . pretty tricked. i've done a few of them for some friends of mine Luv's.

This is real cool
They are going to finish running off Top Fuel and Funny Car tomorrow and it's free to get in and watch. Gates open 8am racing starts at 10am. They are going late in to night to finish running everything else tonight. Live feed will stay on till the end, so they said.

I lived in Odessa for 15 yrs and never went to Penwell Knights. I can see I was missing some good stuff. If any of you get to Thunder Valley in Noble, OK let me know. I'd like to come out and meet ya. I just got my new (LT1) 383 block today from QMP racing (not for the LUV) so I'll hopefully be hitting the track this summer.

congrats on the 383...yeah its pretty fun out there at Penwell man. me and all my buddies ( back in my single days i dont get to go out there much anymore) used to go out there every weekend. Im a Odessa native myself as well. we just push to get it back open about 2 years ago. got True 10.5's and Outlaw Pro Street racing out there now. i like Penwell better than the 1/8 mile track off of I-20 over in Midland cuz the track at Penwell is prep better than DTR in Midland is.

well here is a clip of me and a friend at HRP in houston. first pass of the new season on the new motor, brakes don't hold at the light, it don't like the 1/4 at all with the 5.00 gear and i was on and off the pedal on the big end....i guess i will stick to the 1/8 truck likes it better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2FnQFHa9m0

Here's a couple pics from last night at Thunder Valley. I finally broke into the 13s with a 13.91 @ 101.7 with my '93 vette on this pass against my sons Titan. Not bad for a 150K engine.
This was my first run. Just a little nervous.
This will be going in soon.
