So here's the scoop...

1. Had some noise when make a left turn, like a cyclical rubbing noise.

2. Had to replace the driver's side caliper so I went ahead and replaced pads on both sides and put in new rubber brake lines for each.

3. Greased every fitting I could find while I had the front wheels on.

4. Rubbing is now worse and will now occur sporadically while driving straight.

5. Will rub while rolling backwards slowly (idling backwards)

Things that make it stop:

1. Turning the wheel to the right.

2. Applying the brakes

I'm thinking about putting the old pads back on it (they weren't very worn) and seeing if it makes it stop but honestly I'm not sure what's up. Anyone else had this issue?

Oh, and I could choke Isuzu for not using sealed joints in the suspension. Greasing is a nasty, nasty hobby.

2 wheel drive? 4x4?
if its 2 wheel i would say wheel bearings are starting to go out

4x4 check the cv boots and wheel bearings

do a component check

lift up the wheel and put your hands at nine and three o clock and move the wheel in and out. if it has much play, could be a steering problem

do the same at 12 and 6 and if it has any play, it will be a wheel bearing problem.

also, find yourself an empty parking lot or something similar, and turn or do whatever it is that causes the noise to occur. stop immediately and look underneath to see if anything is rubbing or out of place.

tire tread faces are great clues as to what is happening with your suspension.

and just a simple thing to do would be to make sure the mud flap protectors are not rubbing or out of place.

Oops, 2x4.

I would've thought if it was a wheel bearing it would be a more constant high squeal instead an on-off low rubbing noise. I'll try to get it jacked up and fudged around with tomorrow. I would like to go through and replace all of the front suspension bushings, joints and bearings but I just don't have the funds for a total overhaul.
