Have you ever seen one of these? It relocates the steering.

If you look at the discription, it's chain driven. You may be able to copy it using motorcycle chain and front motorcycle sprockets going one to one and building a cover for it.

oh yeah,

i dont mean to hijack this thread, but i do have a question as to why the steering wheel would be difficult to turn?

i took a look at the gearbox fluid, and it's still full

it feels something like trying to turn when you have a flat tire.

any ideas?

Make 100% sure you have good tire pressure. I run 35 psi in mine and it turns pretty smoothly for not being power steering.

i made sure that both tires were at the right pressure. they are both brand new and have less than 3 tanks of gas on them.

i took a look at the gearbox, and noticed that the pitman arm has some gearbox oil on it. its not dripping, but the truck does leave a small small spot on the ground if i leave it parked for more than a day.

i will need to rebuild the box for sure to make sure that there are no badly worn problems.

BUT,

i need to find a nut for the arm. we had a temporary fix performed when i was in california. so i need to find the nut and get it fixed right.

anyone have a spare? i tried to find one locally, but i'm having no luck so far

so uh. went scrapping today. and now the steering is stiffer than ever.

hard to turn the wheels in either direction. i'm going to grease the linkage and see if that helps, but i did find that the lower seal is still leaking.

any other ideas?
