Has any one seen a stock hub with the studs pulled, welded, and machined flat and 5 lug pattern re drilled? I am considering trying this i work at a large shop where this is easily done. I still have not auto-CAD anything to see if it would off set the mounting bolts as of yet. Just wondering if there's any done out there? Any suggestions would help. THX

I works but everybody quit doing it cause of safety concerns.

Check out the Toyota rotor swap as it would be a piece of cake if you have access to a machine shop and the work well plus are a lot lighter then the stock rotors.

I was looking into that but the whole grind this grind that with no dimensions kinda worried me. I would like to do it all on the mill make everything factory looking as possible all my front suspension just came back from powder coat so i rather not just grind on them. Other than that i thought that it was a great write up and an idea i may have to run with. Do you know what the safety concern about it was?

I don't think they welded the 2 pieces together, they just went to a 5 bolt patten. If you do a 5x4-3/4 pattern, you will get into the shank of the bolts that attach the hubs, if you do a 5x4-1/2 bolt pattern, you will get into the head of a couple of the bolts that attach the 2 pieces, but not the shank. I have the 5x4-1/2, no problems 8 years later...

are your stock holes from the lugs welded and machined? i am a welder so i going to weld them and have them machine flat and re drilled so i should not be in the holes of old studs. Do you know what size your holes were drilled to to ensure tight studes?

8O I didn't have to grind anything when i did my Toyota swap and another member did grinding only to make the setup look as stock as possible.

Ether way will work it's just i want lighter and vented rotors.

So the stock toyota rotors and hubs will fit with no grinding or cutting?
