Had the truck for close to five years and decided its time for paint. To go any faster at the track I would have to install a full rollcage and thats not something Iam willing to do. So paint is the only thing left. As an idea I have come up with a pearl orange above the body line and driftwood grey for below the bodyline. A problem that was brought up was that the bodyline on the rear of the bed does not match the tailgate. Has anyone seen a two color paint scheme that followed the line? How did they do the tailgate? I will keep you posted with pics as progress is made....

Here is how she sits....

A local guy is painting it....he paints pretty much all of our toys, here is my buddies 59' he just got done with..and it is forsale and located in central Texas if anyone might be intrested...

Yea I have seen that type but I really wanted to stick to the bodyline up. My painter said once he gets it ready to shoot we can tape if off and see what it will look like. It will be a few weeks before it is ready to shoot. Just getting some ideas.

Yea its a start. Still have a long ways to go. truck just had a ton of small dings and still has a good dent in the rocker that will probably have to be pulled on a rack but its definatly getting slicked. Now have to get new rubbers and windshield ordered and decide on the final scheme..

where did you pick up the cowl? that is almost exactly what i want for my truck. well ok i would like a full fiberglass hood with cowl but i would be happy with that until i could afford the full hood.

Its the one for a 67 camaro from summit. I cut it way down because its quite a bit longer the the luv hood. My painter trimmed it to fit the stock lines in the Luv hood. He used exploding pop rivets and some type of specific fiberglass to bond it to the hood. He said he has used this method before and it has held up. We will see. If not then I will just get the fiberglass one when it starts to crack out and have it painted. I will post up pics when it is done to see how it turned out.

Howd he install the cowl? What we did with mine is cut out the hood and put the flaps of the cowl on the inside. Riveted it, fiberglassed inside and and out. Hopefully he didn't just fiberglass it to the outside because it will eventually crack, see it all the time!

It is just fiberglassed/riveted to the outside of the hood. With some extra effort and specific details. If it does crack we agreed he will paint the solid fiberglass hood for free. Trust me that I trust him. You obvisouly are talented with an air brush and paint/body. We will see the final product...hopefully soon. And Iam not going anywhere and can post "aged" pics :D

SLOOOOW is how it is coming. But a buddy is doing it and everybody knows how that goes... and the wheels are just regular Weld Pro Stars. I changed the bolt pattern to a common 5 on 4 1/2 so I would have a good selection of wheels. My only complaint is having to polish them. When it gets finished painted I have some Zoop Seal Iam going to try.

Art Morrision redrilled the stock rotors and I have a 9" in the rear with Moser axles and just ordered the axles with whichever pattern I wanted....
