I want a light or lights in my camper shell. Here is what i am thinking, run a Positive wire from the Battery to the shell to the light with a switch. thinking of LED's for less power drain. Any ideas and help.. Thanks also thinking of a power inverter.

Should be fairly simple. I would start at the fuse block. If you plan to run much off the inverter, you had better start at the battery itself and run a very heavy fused wire.

If you can not find 12 volt led light locally, check out marine(boat) shops.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Trailer parts stores might be a safe bet also. That's where I get all my LED lights... If I were you, I'd put some kind of plug inline so that you can take the shell off if need be.

Back when I had my topper, they ran a wire from the battery with an inline fuse down along the frame rail that came in the bed back by the tailgate and it had an plug I could unplug right at the bed rail so I could disconnect if I ever took the shell off. My shell on my SS has a battery operated light in it, nice, no wires but it is pretty dim and the batteries are always dead. Some day I will wire a 12V one in.
