Hello all.I just found this site and I'm glad to see all the info and pics.I was trying to find 80 4x4 pics due to one being near here for sale. What should I look for on one of these.Any hidden areas prone to rust?I actually have two to look at and I'm typing and reading as fast as possible.Any tips would be appreciated.

Family in Hendersonville and I'm in Morganton. After I look at the Luv's I mentioned I'll list them here if I don't buy them...
I'm still wondering what Luv problems are common? Rust,elec.,...

OK,I'm the proud owner of a 80 4x4 Luv.This is the first one I've looked at and I had to get it.It has very little rust top or bottom and the interior is pretty nice. The headliner, door panels, seat ...are nice. The floor has what looks like the original rubber flooring. The floors are solid.Cab mounts and bed are solid.Motor is from an 82 and has new oip pump along with complete new head...Carb is a newer weber.Electrical is working along with seat belt reminder buzz and 3 pos. dome light.Sliding rear window, new tires,2"or 3" body lift.Drove it home on interstate at 65-70 mph for 1.5 hrs.Body has a few bubbles of rust but not much.Temp stays at 140-160.Pressure is at 60 when first cranked and stayed at 50 whole time.Opinions?$800.00
PS it's 18 degrees and I'm goin out to look at it.Ha! I'm hooked

Here should be some pis.Going through the ashtray I found an old note that said"If you ever sell your truck please call me".Kinda cool.
I'm going to need weather stripping on the doors,a stock air filter and some kind of shift boots to replace old ones because of lift.

Thanks Guru.I've been messin around with it since I got it.Biggest hassle was the inspection. They said I needed a catalytic con. along with all the original smog stuff and wiper blades before they could pass me.I figured all that out and today have a tag.He He!I also just got my new Haynes LUV manual in the mail...gotta go.
