I've had three cell phones. Two different service providers....QWEST and VERIZON. I didn't like QWEST, they had almost coverage and when you left a town or city by no more than a 1/4 mile I lost ALL service. I practically never lose service with Verizon and if I do I can usually get it within 1/2 mile or so. I stopped to help with a vehicle accident a few weeks ago and while standing on a bridge over the Sun river I had no service...I literally walked of the bridge towards my truck and had full service. Went back on the bridge, no service, walked off it again and had full service. I thought that was wierd as hell for Dead zones to have boundaries that strict. I like Verizon alot.

I have T-Mobile but leaving for AT&T this Feb. I hate to be standing next to some one and hear them talking on their cell while I am trying to get a signal, most of the time it happens it's a AT&T person doing it. I also find that my T-Mobile servive is lost at 4K feet ASL in my airplane while my friends AT&T is good to 48K feet ASL in the Jets he flies. I have never been real happy with the service of T-Mobile as far as getting a good signal. I have a Dash and do like it very much. Looking into an I Phone next.

Sorry, I left the phone "part" out. This is my second LG and I like it, I guess that's why it's the second one.

I was locked into AT&T for two years. WORST cell phone service ever! Their slogan should be fewer bars in more places. Those Verizon commercials vs AT&T are right! No more cell phone contracts for me ever again. We now have Boost mobile. Great service. $50 a month for unlimited talk, text, internet, e-mail, walkie-talkie etc.

Maybe I'll be switching to boost mobile. If you like the service that beats what I pay for verizon.

My wife and I use Verizon and have wireless too. Our house is near the fringe and were still getting great reception until August when they merged with AllTell. Now that AllTell uses the same towers, our signal keeps getting bounced back and forth between towers causing degraded performance. We have to step outside to use the cell phones and I had to get an external antenna for the USB modem allowing me to use the laptop inside. Internet performance works, but is slow. When I get about a mile closer to Hammond, our version of the big city around here, I get 1.8 Mps download and just over .5 Mps upload speed. AT&T wouldn't even connect here!

tryd to post map of coverege, but no worky.....

$12/40 for the phone, $50 for dubble minet card, and $100 a year for 400 minets X2 thats 800 minets 0.10C a minet.

thats $100 a year there after for 400 X2 = 800, and $12/40 bucks for a new phone, if it gets smashed.

it works on the T-moble, AT@T and a few other net-works that use sim cards.

for some one thats not jibber jabering all the time on a dig-aling, it works grate.

way better than even 19.99 a month :!:
let alone $45

I started with Houston Cellular, which became Cingular, which became AT&T. H.C with a trunk mount, then a bag phone, then regular cell type phones. All my early phones came from the wife's boss when she up graded till real cell phones.... Very Expensive to use, but every pay phone was their own carrier and would not take our long distance cards. That made it a bitch if we needed to call out kids. I got a NASA discount on time when I worked there. I think it dropped from a dollar a minute to 50 cents. I do not remember the monthly fee anymore. We only used it when we had to. HC had the best coverage from Houston to my House in the middle of no where.

When AT&T bought Cingular they must have lost use of quite a few cell towers.it was sorry.. It is good now... Every one in the extended family has AT&T expect one brother in law. We don't talk to them anyway :lol:

I run an LG Envy or something like that, and my carrier it Golden State. It's a local cell company that has 10 or so of its own towers and contracts with both AT&T & Verison. Little pricey, but I get service literally everywhere. Even 70 miles outside town.

Wish I could have kept the old bag phone... that thing could blast through just about anything. Talk about service anywhere. Bummer that the old analogue phones don't work anymore.

I was interested in the Rugby. Is it as tough as they would have you believe? Not sure if I believe the youtube video and the mud bath one.

i have thrown mine several times. (temper issues) and sent it through a wash, and just generaly beat the hell out of it every day for the last year. still works like a champ. some of the rubberized stuff has come off the cover but other than that it even still looks pretty decent. ...i even got primer overspay on it at work once. just let it dry and scraped it off.
