Just to add a little information to this thread. I had a very similar problem with mine but mine also would die if the truck was in any position other than perfectly level. After two weeks of troubleshooting I found out that there is a little ball that seats in the carb and it was missing. I tore my carb apart and rebuilt it (replacing the ball with new one from kit) and it ran like a dream

I have been having issues with my truck as of lately. Drove it nearly 100 miles right after fresh oil change. Stopped at my roommates place of work on the way back to pickup the house keys. Went back and tried to start my truck and there was just nothing but a faint click of what I believe to be the starter relay? So After getting it towed to my apartment I tried everything I could to get it started. Tried making a circuit from the -+ on the starter and she fired right up. So I threw on a switch to the starter to bypass the relay, ran the wires into the cab and tried to start her again and got nothing. Tried to connect the circuit -+ on the starter with a screwdriver again but this time with no luck. Sounded to me like the starter was not engaging properly after that. It would crank over just a little then sound like it was thrown off its own gears. I'm just going to throw a new starter on her but I cant find relays anywhere but if my relay was clicking then was it working properly??

Any help is much appreciated !

Thanks

This question has really nothing to do with the original post and the original post is over a year old. If you want help you might want to start a new thread. What is the battery voltage? What year is your truck?? Is the clutch safty switch hooked up and working correctly?
