ok, im just going to say i dont know much about carbs. my dad replaced my stock single barrel carb on my luv to a 2 barrel. would i have to do anything to the motor if i wanted to put on a 4 barrel carb? or would i only have to hook up all the stuff that was on the 2 barrel?

LUV carbs are always 2bbl...so maybe he put on a better 2bbl.

You'd need a 4bbl that only flowed 200 CFM or less; I don't know that they make them. If you get a book on carburetors it talks about sizing them properly; you don't want to flow too much air for the amount of displacement you have. Otherwise I guess you'd just need an adapter to bolt it on.

lol, you ask why, he asks why not!

When I finish my VW it's going to have 2 2bbl carbs on it... one barrel per cylinder, but with that setup all the distances between the intake valve and the throttle plate are gonna be the same.

So, why not start with a good solid 2bbl carb? If you have a big ol' honkin' carb sitting on top of your intake, your vacuum is gonna be low, and that causes all kinds of problems.
