O.k. For the last week or so when I go to shut my truck off I notice that the key was kind of hot. This morning I go to work, and at lunch the truck would start and then die instantly. I noticed after a couple tries that my fuel pump was not coming on. So I looked under the dash to make sure the plug was on the ignition switch good and tight, it seems the key or ignition got so hot it melted part of the plug. All of the melted plastic was around the black wire terminal that plugs into the ignition switch terminal marked "AM". The black wire was not melted just the end that was in the plug. Could this be caused by a faulty ignition switch? Any ideas would be great.

Yup, that's exactly what's wrong. It's the key switch its self. the connector (upper right, always hot?) is melted almost out of the plug, right? Same thing happened to me, just that mine kinda caught on fire before I paid much attention to it. Fix it ASAP. The thing that kept it from happening again was that I put my stereo circuit on a relay along with my CB. Much less load on the switch.
lol, 3500 Dodge trucks from the late 90's have somewhat the same problem (if you have the heater going full blast, the windshield wipers going, the bun warmer on, and then you think you need the window rolled down, bad things happen...)
