Well guys I ship out in a week for AF BMT at lackland AFB in san antonio, tx. I'm beyond excited and can't wait to start my service. I signed a 6yr contract for security forces. I had to sell the luv because my parents don't have the room to store it, they're already storing my camaro and c10. This is the first forum I ever joined and I have to say has the most genuine, nice, honest, and cool members. I like it so much when I'm in tech school in texas I plan on getting another luv. This time I will be looking for a swb, 2wd, fleet or step, not picky on drivetrain, just lookin for a good runner with very minimal rust. Budjet will be fairly modest/ decent for a luv (around 3000-3500$). So any one in that area I would appreciate leads on trucks here in about 12 or so weeks.

Thanks for readin,
John

good luck in your future endeavors, be sure to keep us posted on your progress and wether or not you find a luv down there.

i believe there are a few luv owners in that area that might help you find a good one

Good luck at Lackland and in the USAF. You picked a better time to go to basics than I did. I went in the late spring/early summer and it was hotter than hell down there by then!
When you get the chance, go see the Alamo and the river walk while your there.

Maduro-man is right, check out the Alamo and River Walk. May not think there would be much to see, and you'd be wrong. My wife and I want to go back to the River Walk and ride the boats again. Great time.
Remember this, basic training is nothing more than a mind game. You will be 'broken', for lack of a better word, of the civilian way of doing things and directed towards an organized way. Basic training is to weed out those that simply don't have the mindset to follow orders/instructions. I was 28 and married with two children when I went in and the T.I.'s even told me I was too old and set in my ways to harass and pretty much left me alone. Hard work, yes, but once you finish you will have many friends.
Finally, I too thank you for serving our country. Just sorry it's during what I consider very troubling times!

Thanks to all who have replied.

I plan to go see a few things, I have seen a few already. My grandpa was a master instructor at lackland and I have lived in texas before. I'm physically ready for basic, pretty sure I can handle it. I have always lived in a rather strict household. I'm just bummed I had to get rid of my luv truck =(. I know times are kinda odd right now, and I will be on a pretty hefty deployment schedule. I'm going to give it my all as I plan to go career.

Like stated before any leads on a luv are much appreciated! If I can't find one in tech school I will be looking when I get to my first base, wherever that may be.

Thanks,
John

San Antonio is a fun town... My daughter lives north of SA about 15 minutes. Texas is not the Luv Capital of the US, but they are out there.... I hope you like the Air Force. A buddy of mine was an AP, he enjoyed it.
Thanks fir your service... We will keep a eye out for a Luv for you.

Thanks for all the support, its cool knowing how many have served before me. My grandpa did a little 42 year stint himself. Zyanug keep a lookout for me since your in NM. I will keep you all up dated on how things are going.

Remember, tech school still isn't the 'real' Air Force. Once you are at your first assignment, it get's much better. Right now you are in training mode and they want to keep you there until you are done. Congrats and thanks for the service.
