They both talked to kids in School just like Obama did. Everything that Obama does someone is there to complain, you can tell your kids that they dont have to participate in school functions if you want, but all it is going to do is hurt them in the long run, but their your kids you do what you think is right. The man is not going to make everybody happy, this country is going to hell in a handbasket thats for sure. I hope that he can prove himself to everybody someday, I think most people dont like him because of who he is, not because of what he does. I used to hate to and did things against certain people that I am now ashamed of, its easier to try to understand.

It's obvious we all have our opinions. I have been drawn back into this post...it just won't quit. I was facing something along the lines of your first few sentences above years ago when my kids were in elementary school. My youngest son was in a class with an Athiest, vegetarian, anti-hunter. He has the right to beleive in God or not, eat meat or not and to protest hunting....I drew the line when he started teaching the kids they were "Gullible to believe in God, a superior being", that's a direct quote. He told the kids that eating meat was wrong and would medically kill them and Karma would come around and bad deeds would happen to them for hunting and killing wild animals. I protested to the school and demanded they remove my son from his class or face legal ramifications. I had his literature and handouts with me. Now for Obama to tell them they should Pledge Allegiance to him and his socialistic way is ludacris. (I have not researched it but it apparently happened because the web has been buzzing with it) I and everyone else have the right to remove our kids from a potential life changing brain washing situation, especially at the young impressionable point in their lives. When they are grown they can make their own decisions it's naturally a different situation. Most parents don't need someone giving their kids this kind of hogwash. Bush and Regan (Bless Reagan, our last real president)did address our kids but definitely did not ask them anything of the sort.

You said most people don't like him because of who he is, not because of what he does. I will counter that by saying I am not one of those but I do believe that is how he got elected. Or at least a major contributor to it. I don't approve of his ways, apoligising for our actions in WWII, political avenues, and approach to out youth.

For every Reagan there has to be a Carter. I'm hoping for Palin to unseat this guy in the next election.

He would still be better than what we have now. Ronnie was great but here's the kicker...he filled his cabinet and surrounded himself with absolute Genius individuals.

We are going to elect Chuck Norris the next President of the Republic of Texas. Nothing wrong with Ted, he would just have to move to Texas

That is a big problem for our current president.. He surrounds himself with idiots. His appointments and czar's will be his downfall yet. I think anyone could be a good president if they have good advisers and use what they tell you wisely.

His charisma will only carry him so far. That is not doing him well lately.

Obama's current approval rating is 49% (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_ ... cking_poll)

Bush's approval rating didn't fall this low until late 2003, a couple of years after he was elected for the first time. :D
(http://www.hist.umn.edu/~ruggles/Approval.htm)

lol, looks like we'll only get 4 years of this... (crossing fingers, hoping for best)

If you are intent to diminish your criminal, unethical acts, the best way is to turn the focus so that you look like a saint in comparison.

Facts
1. Obama is not black. He is a mix of 50% caucasion, 50% african. You have to have a majority to be classified as one or the other.
2. He is not legally president of the United States. Should never been allowed to run. Used the ethnic card to get people to look the other way. You will notice that when ever anyone challanges his policys or beliefs, the say you are just a racist. Another incorrect term. We are all of the human race!! Now to be correct you must be an ethnicist if you have a problem with other ethnic people.

How did Obama as an American citizen travel to Pakistan, when the US had a ban on such travel. Can you say Kenyan Passport. How did he get into the alledged prestigious colleges. He nor his family had that kind of money. However as a foreign student there was moneys available.
If there is no problems then why has he spent over 2 million dollars in lawyer fees to lock up any and all records that could prove or dispell any of the questions.

Obama has more than tripled the national debt in just 6 months and he's not done yet. He will bankrupt this country just as his pastor stated "God Damn America"

There is so much more. Read the health care bill and see your rights that are going to be taken away. Look at his efforts to get a constitutional convention called. That is very scary and dangerous.

Damn, now the bastards are taking over student loans. What does this mean overall, I don't know. But what I do know is that our original lender has been selling our loans. My son has $30K in loans. We have worked the interest down to about 6.5%. When the loans sell they jack them back up to 8.5% or somewhere in that neighborhood.

Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder

Looks like it took about three weeks to surface & start making the email rounds. another one we didn't see on the National News....Wonder Why ?
See link to story below. This NC Democrat State Senator is a die hard anti gunner. He has voted for every anti gun bill that has crossed his desk, but when someone invaded his house, he picked up a gun for self defense. Hypocrites! See another news article below the link.

Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder
Aug 24, 2009
Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C.. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said. The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties.

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening. "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation." Soles, a top-ranking Democrat and the longest-serving member of the legislature, already was the subject of an SBI investigation over sexual misconduct allegations with former male clients. The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.. In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do As I Say And Not As I Do" Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his ffamily, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation. It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety are far more valuable than yours or mine.. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, manage our money, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

this came to my e mail today..... dont know how to check if its true or bs.....

Finally .... A Sensible Gun Registration Plan That Will Work

Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution, as well as Vermont 's own Constitution very carefully, and
his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New
England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register "non-gun-owners" and require
them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first
state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a
fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun

Maslack read the "militia" phrase of the Second Amendment as not only
affirming the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as a clear
mandate to do so. He believes that universal gun ownership was advocated by
the Framers of the Constitution as an antidote to a "monopoly of force" by
the government as well as criminals

Vermont 's constitution states explicitly that "the people have a right to
bear arms for the defense of themselves and the State" and those persons
who are "conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms" shall be required to
"pay such equivalent." Clearly, says Maslack, Vermonters have a
constitutional obligation to arm themselves, so that they are capable of responding to
"any situation that may arise."

Under the bill, adults who choose not to own a firearm would be required
to register their name, address, Social Security Number, and driver's
license number with the state. "There is a legitimate government interest in
knowing who is not prepared to defend the state should they be asked to do
so," Maslack says

Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least
restrictive laws of any state .. it's currently the only state that allows a
citizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. This combination
of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate
that is the third lowest in the nation

"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the
system, but too early to shoot the bastards."

This makes sense! There is no reason why gun owners should have to pay
taxes to support police protection for people not wanting to own guns. Let
them contribute their fair share and pay their own way.

Huh, seems like there isn't any "middle ground" on this one. Being that Vermont has the least restrictions on guns, and also has one of the lowest crime rates, while California has the most gun regulations and one of the highest crime rates, it seems that guns have to either be so prolific that everybody knows all about them, or they have to be practically nonexistent (like in Australia) . I would like for there to be more guns, maybe even required classes in school about the non-weapon uses of firearms. The more people know, the less they fear.

The crime rate tells all.
Like everyone said before, gun regulations only effect people that follow the laws.

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/guic.pdf
This proves it. The number of stolen guns is directly proportionate to the number of crimes committed with guns. I understand that the information is a bit dated, but it's still good.

Blame TV, Movies, and Video Games teaching kids the wrong thing about guns... I forgot music and music videos.

Remember the city than banned all guns, and then another city, right after that, requiring everyone to own a gun.

No middle ground, It will take some totalitarian government trying to take them all away, or some violent thing happening in the US. Some major things, or something to make people feel they need a weapon. Like cities and states not having money for a lot of police.

I think my generation whelped the anti gun movement. The anti Vietnam war people are alive and well.

The only problem with such a report, is the government or anyone else will lie, cheat, or use data as they see to fit to make it support their cause.

If they can bring drugs into the US they can bring anything. Do not believe what they promote as all the guns used in the Mexican Drug wars are coming from the US. It ain't so... They have been caught in the lie of only showing guns from the US as being used there. They did not show you anything like the AK47's imported from China, guns with out serial numbers where ATF can not show where they came from... If there is money to be made someone will do it.

I know that may seem like a big lie, but the news has the articles, and it is not just Fox

Good point. I've been looking into this, and it seems like everytime gun control comes into place, there's either a gov't that's become too large and controlling (Nazi Germany), or some idiot goes and kills a whole bunch of people or whups the cops (Port Arthur, Australia; North Hollywood Bank of America). As far as I know, the East Hollywood incident made people in California one helluva lot more accepting towards gun control. Now, if the dentist across the street from that bank had a hunting rifle and knew how to use it, the whole thing would've been over a lot sooner, and wouldn't have made such huge headlines. The fact that the shooters didn't kill anyone (well, I think somebody died from his wounds, but only just recently) tells me that the shooters didn't know about guns, especially when one of them discarded his AK-47 because it jammed when a casing didn't eject properly (and when he shortly thereafter shot himself while trying to reload). lol, the only thing those guys knew was how to sew Kevlar!

People need to take responsibility for their own safety.

When someone is shooting a handgun sideways, they have been watching too much TV. You can not his $hit.
A parent needs to be responsible, when you have small kids, keep them locked up. I kept a shotgun that was clip fed out. The clip was where the kids could not get. My son has his first .22 rifle at like 7. His sister learned right behind. It is a short gun made for kids to use. Gun safety went along with it... They moved up to larger ones as they got bigger. Hand guns came later. Gun safe was locked, still is. but not everything is in there. Only when the granddaughter is here. Well almost. gun trigger lock works good. She is 4 so she is not too far from learning from both sides.. And will go through the same things,,, She is getting to be a good fisher man.
