The fuse for my taillights keep blowing. Each time I pull the switch for the
lights it blows. I have turn signals still though.
Since I put a diffent tranny in my Luv, I damaged the sensors for the backup light and the 4wd light on the dash. I am wondering with the sensors not plugged into the wireharness, will that be a problem for tail lights.

this sounds ike a ground problem. I run into stuff like this all the ti9me on fords. What you need to do is check resistance on the circut, it shouldnt be much, just acoup,le of thenths of an ohm. If its a ground problem youll probly read about 500- 1000 ohms on the circut. At least thats the way it works out on fords but electrical shorts should be about the same. Good luck, this stuff is no fun :(

If you are blowing the fuse everytime you turn the lights on you are not missing a ground you have a power wire that has shorted to ground. trace the wires from the rear of the truck back forward and it should not be to hard to locate. now if you have a trailer connector on your truck I would start there first .. I have had my butt kicked by them more times than I care to remember in my 20 plus years of doing this stuff for a living..

Later Spanky

kt1328 is right. You have a pinched wire somewhere. I had a similar problem and it turned out that i pinched one installing the taillight assy. Also, another time i had bad wiring along the harness just before the rear axle. My exhaust burned a section and most of the electrical system failed on the way to work. Wires were melted together. I had to replace a foot-long section. That would be a good project to do this winter. I can build a new harness in the comfort of my apt.
