that my overheating truck was caused by a blowed headgasket. probly caused when the fan clutch went out and it over heated that time. so me and a friend whose never worked on a car let alone a luv. took the head off we had a fun time it only took 3 hrs not bad speaking i didnt break anything in the process. BUT i will say this who ever came up with those weird Allen head-bolt design WHY!!! can change those over to regular bolts?

Spent $50 on a set of those allen drivers (Snap-On)... haven't used them on anything other than the LUV.
There isn't enough room to put a regular hex head in there. Maybe it has something to do with strength. Possible replacement might be a 12 point bolt?

Definitely hearin' ya on the frustration.

Another weird one is the Ford 428... it has a philips head bolt under the timing cover...
