Did you check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold? try spraying some starting fluid around the manifold and hoses and the base of the carb, the engine should speed up if there is a leak. Also, what type of engine are you running? V8, V6 or stock?

yeah, give it a shot, sometimes a little leak can ruin your whole day! Especially check under the intake manfold. Also, check for leaks around the EGR valve if you have one, where it plugs into the intake

I put a new egr gasket on there already. I was going to take the manifold off but I couldnt get under there to get to the bolts so I just said forget it. I wanted to see if there was any cracks and change the manifold gasket. I will try that and see what happens but I have to wait until I get the other carb. If you come up with anything else let me know Im going nuts trying to figure out whats wrong it, this is the fifth carb Ive exchanged for. Thanks

thats what were here for! just spray some starting fluid under it, that will also let you know if your gasket is bad. Like I said, the motor will speed up. Just spray it slowing, moving along the gasket, use a straw in the can of starting fluid, so you can pinpoint the leak, rather than just spray the whole intake at once. I had a problem similiar to this on a previous luv I owned. Especially if it has been sitting awhile.

I was raised in Selma, I went to school in Cave Junction. I only moved to Grants Pass about a year ago. I work here, and I got tired of the 30 mile(one way) commute to work. Who are your parents? I may know them

Thats cool, my moms name is Vikki Day she does upholstry on cars over in cave junction. Well I figured out the problem with my truck, thanks. It had a leak in the intake manifold so I took off the intake and cleaned it up, checked it for cracks it didnt seem to have any so I put a new gasket on it and will see by tomorrow if it runs right, I have to wait until tommorrow because I had to order a gasket for the egr valve assembly. Let me know if you know my mom, that would be a trip. Talk at you later.
By the way my name is shane blankenship if that gives you any clues I went to school in cave junction but I am 30 years old so I dont know if you went at the same time I did but let me know man alright talk at you later

no, I don't know her. I don't know you either, I'm only 19 years old. That would have been weird though. Well I'm glad you figured your truck out. Sometime something so simple can be the biggest headache.
