Bed and tail gate
Our MPH had been increasing from 105mph to 121mph as we upgraded our engine and drive line. It has never made a difference in MPH if we ran with the tail gate up or down.
I noticed some pickups have the bed covered. I've asked if that improved the MPH but the fellows said that was the only way they ever raced them but they thought it probably did improve the MPH or at least they would like to think so!
Has any one had a testing and tune experience to know if a covered bed increases MPH?

I have never done testing personally. But on a tv show one time they did a test with the tailgate up on one truck and down on another truck. The truck with the tailgate up went further on a tank of gas.

Saw that show Myth Busters and that program and they did the test with both truck and the results were the same better mileage with tail gate up.Some times engineers can actually get something right but i think it was just lucky.
